The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) has received a donation of thirty computers from Docutech, an information technology (IT) solutions company, to support teaching and learning at the University.
The donation forms part of the company's commitment to strengthening its longstanding relationship with the University and supporting education through technology.
The General Manager of Docutech, Mr Joe Alhassan, said the company values its partnership with KNUST and is committed to contributing to the University's educational mission.
He noted that Docutech has maintained a productive working relationship with the University over the years and considers KNUST a strategic partner because of its strong focus on technology.
“Because of the nature of our business, which is IT, and the University's alignment with technology, we believe KNUST is one of the best partners in this field,” he said.
Mr Alhassan noted the company is also supporting student development through internship and national service opportunities, including plans to engage two national service personnel and two students from the College of Engineering.

The Managing Director of Docutech, Mr Jean-Louis Feghali, reaffirmed the company's commitment to building long-term relationships with its clients and supporting the communities in which it operates.
He said the donation was a gesture of appreciation for the University's partnership, adding that the company remained open to exploring further opportunities to support KNUST.
Mr Feghali also proposed the introduction of managed print services at the University, explaining that the arrangement could improve cost management, budgeting, operational efficiency and cybersecurity.
According to him, outsourcing print management could provide the University with better control and visibility over its printing infrastructure while reducing the risks of cyberattacks through network-connected printing devices.
He reiterated the company's willingness to deepen its partnership with KNUST, stating, “We are here to partner and for the long term.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christian Agyare, appreciated Docutech for the donation and its continued engagement with the University.
He indicated that the computers could also be channelled towards supporting students, particularly through the University's existing arrangements for distributing donated laptops to deserving beneficiaries.

Professor Agyare explained that such an approach would provide beneficiaries with an opportunity to appreciate the organisations and individuals contributing to their academic and personal development.
